Double victory delight for Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport at Knockhill

August 18, 2025

Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport returned to the top step of the podium with a scintillating display at Knockhill, as Jake Hill charged to two race victories and a fifth-place finish across a sun-soaked weekend North of the border for round seven of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

With the team looking to bounce back from a testing weekend at Croft, having been forced to watch from the sidelines, motivation ran high as preparations began on Saturday morning, with positive running in the opening two free practice sessions.

Drawn into the second group for qualifying, Jake, behind the wheel of his #1 WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport would comfortably make his way through the opening two stages of qualifying to find himself in the battle for pole position. Ultimately, Jake would secure himself third place on the grid for Sunday's opening race, with the Kent-based driver ready to fight it out for victory the following day.

With sunshine accompanying race day, the stage was set for some brilliant racing action as the opening race of the weekend got underway. Starting from the second row of the grid, Jake would make a great start to maintain position and settled in behind his WSR stablemates as the race began to unfold. At the halfway mark, Jake would climb into the top two and would seize the lead from Rainford after a superb exit from the final hairpin. Jake would remain calm and composed behind the wheel to continue building his lead, and even with a late race safety car adding further drama, he pressed on after the restart to claim his second victory of the season.

Starting on pole for race two and with the harder tyre compound bolted on, Jake launched away from the grid and looked to extend his advantage over the front-wheel drive cars chasing him down. Despite his efforts to hold onto the lead of the race, Jake would ultimately drop down to fifth, holding firm till the chequered flag to secure another healthy haul of points as the final race of the day approached. Jake's race two performance was one of the standout drives on the medium tyre across the weekend, keeping him in contention for further success in race three

Drawn onto the front row of the grid in the reverse grid draw, Jake would be starting from P2 with his sights fully set on securing another race victory. Starting the race well and holding onto his second place, Jake would make his move into the hairpin on lap three, clinching the lead of the race with a superb overtaking manoeuvre. With a clear track ahead of him, Jake would continue to stretch his lead as the race unfolded, taking the chequered flag with an imperious lead for his second race victory of the day and win number twenty-three of his BTCC career.

Following the weekend's action, which saw Jake climbing atop the podium for the seventh time at the Scottish venue, his and the team's superb performance now sees him climb to fifth place in the drivers' standings on 197 points. Up next for the team is a return to Donington Park as they tackle the GP loop for round eight of the 2025 campaign.

Jake Hill, Driver – Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport
"What a weekend here at Knockhill for myself and the team! It was tough to watch on from the sidelines at Croft, but we have bounced back in some style with two victories and a healthy haul of points.  I've kept up my streak of winning here every time in a BMW, and the car was just fantastic to drive this weekend, so a massive thanks to everyone at Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport and WSR for all their hard work to make this happen. A massive thank you to all our partners for being patient while I get better from my illness, and it was nice to come back and remind everyone why we are the current champions!"

Mark Blundell, Sporting Director – Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport
"A brilliant weekend for us at Knockhill and a superb effort from Jake and the team to get us back on the top step of the podium twice on Sunday. We wanted to bounce back following Croft, and we did exactly that. Jake and the team performed excellently across the weekend to deliver the results we deserve for all our hard work on and off the track. It was fantastic to reward all our valued partners with two victories in what has been a testing 2025 campaign for us so far, and we thank WSR in helping us to return to the top step."
