Front row start for ROKiT MB Motorsport at Brands Hatch

May 14, 2022

ROKiT MB Motorsport will start from the front row of the grid for the opening race of the weekend at Brands Hatch following a close-fought qualifying session for Jake Hill on Saturday.

Settling into the session, Jake provisionally jumped to the top of the timesheets with ten minutes gone - leading the charge in his BMW 330e M Sport. In a session defined by the closest of margins, hundredths and thousandths of a second split the field. Entering the final ten minutes, Jake’s WSR stablemate Colin Turkington was able to streak 0.167s clear of the BRDC SuperStar. As the session drew to a close, second on the grid and the front row was confirmed for Jake, who looks ahead to a promising day of racing.

“Overall I think we can be quite pleased with how we’ve done today,” Jake said. “The pace in the car has been evident all day and it’s a great effort from the WSR boys and girls, locking out the top three positions. It’ll be an interesting day tomorrow as the margins here are always so close but I’m sure it’ll be another positive one.”

Mark Blundell, Sporting Director of ROKiT MB Motorsport added:

“Well done to all of the team on another excellent qualifying performance. We’re in a very good position to capitalise on this tomorrow and I know the team will give their all to maximise those results. Race day at Brands Hatch is always full of excitement and tomorrow will be no exception.”
