Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport return to home soil at Brands Hatch Indy

May 8, 2025

Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport return to home turf this weekend as they head to Brands Hatch Indy, aiming to climb back to the sharp end of the grid following a hard-fought points haul that kickstarted the 2025 British Touring Car Championship season.

The team enters the second round of the campaign looking to build on a solid start, with Kent-born Jake Hill securing two fourth-place finishes and a tenth in the opening round. Those results place him sixth in the Drivers’ Championship with 32 points.

Piloting their WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport will tackle the shortest circuit on the calendar—just 1.21 miles in length. Brands Hatch Indy is known for its high-intensity nature, with drivers lapping well under the 50-second mark and navigating the circuit’s signature rollercoaster-like elevation changes, leaving little room for error.

Round two gets underway on Saturday with two free practice sessions followed by qualifying at 15:10, which can be watched live on the ITV Sport YouTube channel. All three races take place on Sunday, with live coverage available on ITV4 and online at ITVX. Sunday’s triple header of races are scheduled to get underway at 11:30 (BST), 14:05 and 17:10 respectively. Live timing across the weekend is available here for all sessions.

Jake Hill is looking forward to returning to racing action and making further strides forward at his home track:

"Although we made progress during the opening weekend and came away with a good points haul, our full focus has been on raising our game and challenging those at the front of the grid. Returning to Brands Hatch is a real confidence boost—being born and raised in Kent, it’s a special place for me, and I can’t wait to get out there in front of a home crowd.”

“Brands Hatch Indy presents a unique challenge with its short layout, which makes qualifying absolutely crucial for Sunday’s races. There’s little room for error, but I’m confident that both the team and I will be giving everything we’ve got to be back fighting at the front.”

Mark Blundell, Sporting Director of Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport, echoed Jake's thoughts as the team look to build upon the progress made at Donington Park:

“Brands Hatch is an iconic circuit and the home track for both Jake and the team, so we’re hoping to see the Kent crowd out in full force as we aim to bounce back following the opening round of the season. We made progress last time out, and our goal now is to return to the front of the pack and fight for the results we know we’re capable of. We’ve enjoyed plenty of success at Brands during our time in the BTCC, and we’ll be looking to build on that again this weekend.”
